Anil Sharma

Anil is a UK graduate who was lucky enough to come to New Zealand for an OE in 1993. He moved back here with his wife Rachel Jones, who is a GP, and they have three Kiwi daughters.

He worked for many years at the resident on call Waitakere Maternity hospital and in Gynae at North Shore. Having left the New Zealand maternity system behind, his Gynae areas of interest include Abnormal Uterine bleeding, Endometriosis, Prolapse and Urinary incontinence.

He also keeps actively involved with medical education with the Goodfellow Unit and edits women's health articles for Research Review.

Grant Beban

Grant is an Upper Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgeon practising in Auckland at ADHB, Auckland Weight Loss Surgery, the MacMurray Institute and MercyAscot.  His clinical interests include: Primary and Revisional Weight Loss surgery, Laparoscopic foregut surgery including gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, Surgery for cancer of the stomach and oesophagus, Laparoscopic cholecystectomy and hernia surgery.

Richard Babor

Richard is as a General, Upper Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgeon at Counties Manukau District Health Board and MercyAscot.
About half of Richard's work involves the treatment of oesophagus, stomach and pancreatic cancers. In his private practice, Auckland Weight Loss Surgery, Richard specialises in laparoscopic surgery for the treatment of obesity. A significant proportion of this workload involves the management of patients with complications arising from weight loss surgery they have had in the past. Richard is involved in research and teaching in these fields. One current project is the development of a multidisciplinary weight loss surgery program for adolescents with metabolic complications of obesity.

Anna Lawrence

Anna is a New Zealand trained Urologist, and the only Fellowship trained urethral reconstruction surgeon in Auckland. She has worked in many areas of medicine nation-wide, and has trained internationally at the University of California and with the Society of Genitourinary Reconstruction Surgeons in Pune, India.
Her clinical specialties include: Incontinence, Voiding Dysfunction, Urethroplasty, Stone Surgery and Prevention

MercyAscot Education Series

This CME Event is brought to you as part of the MercyAscot Education Series.
