NRHCC COVID-19 vaccination programme update

Run in conjunction with the Northern Region Health Coordination Centre (NRHCC), this webinar covers details of the national rollout of the vaccination programme as well as a programme update for Auckland Metro.

Professor Peter McIntyre will join us to take your clinical questions: Peter is a paediatrician specialising in infectious diseases and a public health physician. He is a Professor at the Universities of Otago and Auckland and a member of the Strategic Advisory Group of Experts for immunisation of the World Health Organisation.
The Ministry of Health is reminding GPs that requests for proof of COVID-19 vaccinations can take up to 20 days to process.Commonly, people travelling overseas may ask for this information. Requests are processed under the Privacy Act 2020 and the timeframe involved is due to the volume of requests currently being received. GPs can provide the information but if the individual is seeking a formal letter from the Ministry, please let them know they will need to provide:

Presenters
Dr Joe Bourne
Dr Joe Bourne is the Primary Care Lead for the COVID-19 Vaccine & Immunisation Programme at the Ministry of Health. Joe is a GP from the UK who has been in New Zealand since 2007.
He works as a GP for Poutiri Wellness Centre – a Kaupapa Māori practice in Te Puke and he joined the COVID-19 Vaccine and Immunisation Programme earlier this year.
Matt Hannant
Matt is leading the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccination programme for the NRHCC. Matt was Director of Strategy and Transformation in the National Health Service in London and has a background in health economics and health policy.
He came to New Zealand in 2017 and is the General Manager of Primary Care at Counties Manukau DHB. He brings together operations, project management, implementation, equity and functional support teams to deliver this critical public health programme.
Leanne Kirton
Leanne is currently managing the rollout of the primary care Covid-19 vaccination programme for the NRHCC. She has had extensive experience in health programme and project management, most recently with Auckland and Waitemata DHBs Planning, Funding and Outcomes team.
She has a passion for community health and enjoys supporting primary care to play an important role in the national Covid-19 vaccination programme.
