The Ministry of Health is reminding GPs that requests for proof of COVID-19 vaccinations can take up to 20 days to process.

Commonly, people travelling overseas may ask for this information. Requests are processed under the Privacy Act 2020 and the timeframe involved is due to the volume of requests currently being received. GPs can provide the information but if the individual is seeking a formal letter from the Ministry, please let them know they will need to provide:

  • Full name (and any aliases known by)
  • Date of birth
  • Street Address
  • Postal address (if different)
  • Past addresses (as many as able to provide)
  • Contact phone number
