About this Course

Confidently identify, assess, manage and appropriately refer common vulval dermatological conditions.

This short course focuses on supporting the diagnosis and management of vulval disease in adult women.

By the end of this module, learners will be able to:

  • Assess patients presenting with vulval dermatological signs and symptoms.
  • Develop an appropriate differential diagnosis for women presenting with vulval itch, pain, or visible skin changes.
  • Deliver evidence-based advice on general vulval skin care applicable across a range of conditions.
  • Prescribe and counsel patients on the safe and effective use of topical treatments, including emollients, corticosteroids, and barrier creams.
  • Identify when to initiate treatment for suspected lichen sclerosus and when referral to specialist care is warranted.
