About this Course
For General Practitioners and Nurse Practitioners who wish to undertake the assessment and diagnosis of ADHD in adults.
It has been specifically developed in response to changes in New Zealand law regarding the diagnosis and treatment of adult ADHD.
Key learning objectives include:
- Understanding comprehensive, evidence-based assessment and referral pathways for adult ADHD.
- Describing the neurobiological basis and equitable application of biological treatments.
- Recognising the primary care team’s role in gathering clinical history, rating scales, and health data before assessment.
- Effectively communicating diagnostic outcomes and treatment considerations with patients and their whānau.
- Viewing ADHD care as a collaborative, staged, and continuous process involving coordination with peers and psychiatry.
