Modern cancer treatments and how to manage your patient

In the last twenty years cancer treatment have evolved beyond traditional cytotoxic chemotherapies. A knowledge of tumour biology has lead to the advent of molecularly based 'targeted therapies'. More recently has been the emergence of immunotherapies as an additional therapeutic option in certain tumours.

This will be a review of these broad treatment classes and what impact it has had on patient outcomes. Case examples will be used to describe common toxicities of these treatment classes and some tips on how to best manage them.
