PAEDS 710 Clinical care of gender diverse youth

Are you a clinician who works with young people and are you seeing young people wanting help with gender identity concerns?

  • The Youth2000 survey found that approximately 4 out of every 100 students reported that they were either transgender (1.2%) or that they were not sure of their gender (2.5%).
  • Nearly 40% of transgender students had been unable to access healthcare when they needed it.

There is an urgent need for clinicians working with young people to be aware of gender issues and able to support young people around their gender identity.

Clinical Care of Gender Diverse Youth (PAEDS 710) is a postgraduate course from the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at the University of Auckland. It can be taken as a stand-alone course in conjunction with PAEDS712 or as part of the Certificate or Diploma in health sciences, specialising in Youth Health.

PAEDS 710 will be running first semester in 2019 over 4 days during the semester (dates to be determined).

This is a chance to upskill your knowledge and expertise in this rapidly changing field and learn from local and international experts in this area!
