Small burns can be appropriately managed in primary care.
Refer inhalational burns or burns of 5% coverage in children or 10% in adults.
Burns that aren’t healing at 2-3 weeks might require surgery.
Any cases can be consulted with the regional burn units.
Always consider non accidental burns particularly if the burn and the story don’t add up.
