CEP 3: Youth Development & Well-being

This course is part of the Introduction to Co-existing Problems (CEP) in Youth series. This course addresses the concepts of well-being and positive youth development, which are fundamental to quality service delivery for young people with CEP and their family/whānau. Health practitioners working in all types of youth services have a responsibility to ensure practice occurs within a positive youth development paradigm.

Mental Health Workshop 2015

Primary care clinicians work with mental health presentations, in some form or another, on a daily basis. The Mental Health Skills for next Monday workshop has a focus on primary care; bringing together experts from a range of areas of mental health. The day will cover topics from depression and drug use, to communication skills and medication. We cover the lifespan, from childhood and family issues, to adolescence and adulthood. We also have presentations from GPs using targeted therapeutic techniques in their practice.

CEP 6: Screening and Brief Interventions

This course is part of the Introduction to Co-existing Problems (CEP) in Youth series. Screening usually involves administering a brief questionnaire. The object of screening is to identify potential areas for further assessment. It is often the starting point for further CEP work and should be a key part of a CEP enhanced response in all youth services.

CEP 2: Ethnicity and Culture

This course is part of the Introduction to Co-existing Problems (CEP) in Youth series. Culture is a broad term that encompasses a range of domains including ethnicity, age, gender, sexuality, disability and political orientation. Cultural diversity is one of the underpinnings of community development and is a key part of achieving a more satisfactory intellectual, emotional, moral and spiritual existence.

CEP 5: Understanding Motivation

This course is part of the Introduction to Co-existing Problems (CEP) in Youth series. An understanding of motivation enhances work with all young people in a range of health services. It is essential when working with CEP and in particular with addiction issues. In this module you will learn about the practical application of these concepts in youth.

Foundations in ICAMH 4: Supporting the Wellbeing of Infants, Children and Youth

This course provides an overview of how to support infant, child and youth mental health issues and enhance wellbeing.

This course provides an overview of: developmental milestones, developmentally appropriate practice and common mental health issues in adolescence (13 - 19 years).

This material covers childhood (5-12 years) and provides an overview of developmental milestones, developmentally appropriate practice, and common mental health issues.

Foundations in ICAMH 1: Infant Mental Health

The course is aimed at workers in primary level, NGO and ICAMHS services to develop the skills and knowledge on infant, child and young person mental health and AOD concerns.

The course is part of the series: Foundations in Infant, Child, Youth and Whānau Mental Health which are an introduction for health professionals who want to improve their knowledge and skills in working with infants, children and adolescents with, or at risk of having mental health, alcohol or drug issues.
