“The time has come for a more purposeful and ambitious agenda to eliminate health inequities in Aotearoa New Zealand”. Associate Professor Collin Tukuitonga of the University of Auckland, said in 2022.

This presentation will discuss some of the findings from Bula Sautu – A window on quality 2021: Pacific Health in the year of COVID 19 report and how health professionals can be more proactive and better informed about Pacific peoples' health issues, belief systems and the failings within the Health system - which have a significant impact for Pacific peoples in Aotearoa New Zealand.

It will also discuss strengthening the voice of Pacific communities, and ensuring that Pacific communities’ needs and priorities are reflected in our interactions with this community.
