Karen has a special interest in sleep health and insomnia. She is a fellow of the RNZCGP and completed a PhD (General Practice) investigating the behavioural treatment of insomnia. She has worked both in general practice and in private sleep clinics and runs a Sleep Clinician peer group facilitating ongoing education and community for a multidisciplinary group of clinicians. She is a member of the Australasian Sleep Society and World Sleep Society. Karen is a senior lecturer in the Centre for Medical and Health Sciences Education and the Clinical Skills Centre at the University of Auckland. Her current research areas of interest include sleep health, sleep in medical students, and sleep education.
