Dr Melanie Woodfield (DClinPsy, BSc(Hons), FNZCCP) has been a Clinical Psychologist since 2004, much of this time at the Kari Centre, a child and adolescent mental health service in central Auckland. She has clinical and research interests in parent training approaches for the treatment of childhood conduct problems – particularly the implementation and sustainability of these programmes in New Zealand, which is the focus of her HRC-funded PhD research at the University of Auckland.

Melanie teaches child and adolescent development and psychopathology within the Department of Psychological Medicine. She has written for OHbaby! parenting magazine since 2008, regularly contributes to media conversations and has been involved in providing content for high profile youth-oriented websites such as www.thelowdown.co.nz.
