Rebecca Schroll is a general surgeon with subspecialty expertise in trauma and emergency surgery. After obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree and her medical degree from Saint Louis University, she completed general surgery training at Wake Forest University in North Carolina, USA. She completed ACGME-accredited fellowship training in trauma & emergency surgery and surgical critical care in New Orleans, USA, and has extensive experience working as a trauma and emergency surgeon at major trauma centres in the USA and NZ.
She is certified by the American Board of Surgery in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care and is an honorary Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Auckland. She enjoys spending time teaching trauma courses and presenting research at international conferences.
She works in public at Auckland City Hospital in the trauma section and acute surgical unit, as well as in private at Allevia, where she performs both laparoscopic and open procedures, including hernia repair and complex abdominal wall reconstruction, cholecystectomy, intestinal surgery, and skin and subcutaneous lesion resection.
