Sleep is one of the three pillars of health, the others being exercise and nutrition, and it is the least promoted and perhaps the least understood. The physiology of sleep and its impact on our lives will be explored, especially management of fatigue and stress to achieve adequate quantity and quality of sleep, and the impact of sleep on our physical, psychological and emotional health.

Strategies to highlight what we should and should not do to improve this vital time of our lives will be explored within the GP context.
