Adult Flatfoot, and the Treatment of Ankle Arthritis

Adult flatfoot is a common problem encountered by 20% of the population.  The vast majority of people will not endure any symptoms related to this and will live a normal life.  The mainstay of treatment includes patient education and orthotic treatment with surgery reserved for those that fail non-operative treatment.

The treatment of ankle arthritis is an exciting emerging area in foot and ankle surgery.  We are now into our 4th generation of ankle replacement and with the development of revision equipment we are now able to give patients options heading into the future.
