Dexa and difficult bone cases

Dexa and difficult bone cases

Speaker
Session Date:

Dexa scans should be interpreted by the specialist report from the service provider. The adequacy of such reports varies, so it's useful for GPs to understand how these reports should be structured and the need for them to integrate clinical data with the bone density measurement to produce an estimate of fracture risk.

Artefacts influencing bone density will be considered, and challenging scenarios, such as osteoporosis management in patients with marked renal impairment will also be considered.
