A diagnostic approach to the “black box” of upper abdominal pain

Upper abdominal pain may be the presenting complaint for a wide variety of problems including occult malignancy. However, access to investigations is limited in primary care and some problems may end up requiring specialist input.

This talk will propose a safe diagnostic algorithm accounting for available resources in primary care and present an overview of liver and pancreatic diseases to consider as diagnoses whilst including recent innovations.
