Escalated Care Pathways

Escalated Care Pathways

Session Date:

Escalated Care Pathways (ECP) are a pilot programme between ACC and five consortia across NZ. Careway (based in Auckland) is one of these consortia.

The pilot aims to test innovative and integrated new recovery pathways for people with non-acute knee, shoulder and lower-back injuries. The Careway pilot will test the impact on people’s outcomes, including faster return to work, improved utilisation or conservative and surgical options, more timely access to surgery and rehabilitation, and improved equity and access for Māori and Pacific People.

This presentation aims to provide an overview the ECP process and pathways, work through one of these pathways in detail (knee), outline the key rehabilitation phases and outcome measures and then demonstrate how these can work in GP/urgent care to access a Careway surgeon and physiotherapist.
