Experiences from the City Mission

The talk will be about working with the people who attend the primary care clinic at the City Mission 140 Hobson Street Auckland. The majority of patients have a history of trauma and have led stressful lives. The clinical approach requires a high-risk approach to illness and symptoms often requiring action rather using time as a diagnostic test as in regular primary care. An appreciation of the uniqueness of each patient's experience and their life journey is important. Liz and Bruce will describe some interesting cases. Helen will talk about what the Mission does for health promotion and support.
