This practical session looks at what investigation and management options are required for patients needing a joint replacement for hips or knees. I will use case-based examples to discuss patient criteria when it is appropriate to be referred to a specialist; and what to do in the interim period prior to surgery.
This session will also look at what GPs can do for patients who do not meet the necessary referral criteria for a joint replacement, and what relevant patient advice and guidance can be given to ensure the patient can go about their daily life.
