Identifying and managing frailty in primary care

Frailty is a pressing issue among the aging population in New Zealand. The need for clinicians to understand the causes and have tools to manage frailty is key. This presentation will look at how we define frailty, looking at the significance as a clinical syndrome and how biological, psychological and social dimensions interact to affect individuals’ health outcomes.
Additionally, Sharon will cover management strategies aimed at managing as well as reversing frailty, using case studies to highlight management strategies and best practices to assist with practice.
