Managing grief: Brief interventions that make a difference
Speaker
Session Date:
Grief is a feature of many client interactions, yet resource constraints affect the ways that we are able to engage with the experience of grief.
In this session, I identify the universal impacts of grief. In particular, I explore the concept of disenfranchised grief (Doka, 1986); and psychological defence mechanisms first proposed by Sigmund Freud (1894, 1896).
This framework embeds a suggested toolkit of skills and interventions for primary care.
