1 in 3 people will develop shingles in their lifetime and the disease can lead to long-lasting complications such as Post-Herpetic Neuralgia (PHN) and Herpes Zoster Ophthalmicus (HZO). Moreover, cardiovascular disease is associated with an increased risk of developing shingles by 34% on top of age.

Patrick will be discuss the impact of infectious diseases on cardiovascular health and the risk, burden and impact of shingles from a cardiology perspective.
 

BIO: Patrick Kay

Patrick has been supplying specialist cardiology services for over 10 years. He was trained in medicine and cardiology in New Zealand before working in the Netherlands where he obtained a PhD in Interventional Cardiology.

He is able to offer you 14 years experience in the area of angioplasty and stenting, and is one of Auckland's busiest and most experienced Interventional Cardiologists.
