Garry leads a team of Clinical Advisors to the Coroners Court, which commenced in 2023. The team provides clinical advice for coroners and liaises with clinicians, police and HNZ-TWO. He worked in General Practice (for 5 years) and urgent care clinics before qualifying as an Emergency Medicine specialist in 1999. His special interest is healthcare law. He is a medical referee for cremations. His perspective encompasses death certification across the spectrum of primary care, hospitals, funeral directors, police, HNZ-TWO and coroners.
