Heather works at Middlemore Hospital. Her particular interests in the field of Geriatrics are cognitive assessment and capacity assessment which are frequent issues she faces in her role as Community Geriatrician. Heather enjoys following a patient’s journey over the years through clinic, getting to know them and their whanau, and seeing them in their own home which gives special insight into their unique situation.
Heather did her medical degree at Otago University and has done her specialist training in the Auckland region. She is currently on the advanced trainee committee for Geriatrics training with the Royal College of Physicians and has worked on guidelines for capacity assessment and been on the working group for PPPR act applications at Middlemore Hospital.
When not at work Heather can often be found climbing the various volcanoes around Auckland with her husband and 2 sons!
