Lucy has been a GP in a huge variety of settings for 30 years. She has been a medical educator for the College of GPs for much of that time and has been a columnist for NZ Doctor for nearly a decade. Lucy has studied medical social science, narrative practice and kaitikaitnaga.
Lucy’s book Everything but the Medicine. A Doctor’s Tale published by Massey University Press in 2025, is a poignant and humorous exploration of the human complexities of the consultation.
