Renee Taylor is the founder and director of Swallow & Speech Therapy Consultants Ltd., a private practice dedicated to advancing dysphagia care and speech-language therapy. With extensive experience spanning healthcare, governance, education, and consultancy, Renee has established herself as a leader in creating innovative, client-centered solutions for individuals with swallowing and communication challenges and the organisations who support them.
Renee’s career includes invaluable roles with then Counties Manukau DHB, where she served as a community speech-language therapist for adults with dysphagia and communication difficulties, and as a member of the Māori Allied Health Advisory Board. She also contributed her expertise at the Ministry of Education and ACC contracting, showcasing her adaptability and commitment across diverse settings. From 2017 to 2019, Renee held leadership positions on the Executive Board of the New Zealand Speech-language Therapists’ Association (NZSTA), championing Māori and cultural development as well as communications initiatives.
Her dedication to professional growth extends to academia, where she served as a Professional Teaching Fellow at the University of Auckland. Renee also collaborates as a consultant speech-language therapist for The Pure Food Co, a company specialising in fortified texture-modified foods, aligning with her passion for improving outcomes in swallowing disorders.
