Dr Ryan Paul (Ngāti Maru) is an endocrinologist in Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand Waikato and is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Waikato. He is also an honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Auckland a Clinical Associate of the Maurice Wilkins Centre. He is the Immediate Past-President of the New Zealand Society of Endocrinology (NZSE) and is an Executive Member of the New Zealand Society for the Study of Diabetes (NZSSD).
He has many advisory roles including for the Ministry of Health, Diabetes and Eating Disorder Awareness and the Diabetes Exercise and Sports Association. He has key roles in teaching including being a member of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians New Zealand Adult Medicine Committee and was awarded the Clinical Educator of the Year by the New Zealand Medical Council in 2019.
