Advanced Resuscitation (ACLS6)
WORKSHOP: 9.00am - 2.00pm
Tea and coffee on arrival, and lunch are provided.
This workshop is designed for current GP fellows (College and DRHM + Dual), GPs wishing to obtain fellowship (GPEP and DRHM + Dual) and GP registrars (GPEP and DRHM + Dual).
ACLS6 meets the most recent RNZCGP resuscitation compliance requirements. Effective from 1 June 2025, GP fellows and registrars are required to complete an RNZCGP-endorsed resuscitation course with a mandatory pre-workshop assessment and the face-to-face workshop.
The assessment consists of a pre-reading, an MCQ test and an ECG test, which will take approximately 1-1.5 hours. You must complete this before the face-to-face training. Links to the pre-workshop assessments will be sent to participants following registration. The assessments are online and are automatically marked.
This workshop covers the following topics:
- Basic life support (including infant, child and adult resuscitation).
- Patient assessment.
- Advanced airway management assessed to the laryngeal mask airway (LMA) level.
- Pharmacology in resuscitation.
- The role of early defibrillation.
- AED & manual defibrillation.
- Scenario training, including use of algorithms.
- Recognition of shockable and non-shockable ECG rhythms.
- Management of anaphylaxis.
After the face-to-face workshop, course convenors will check that each participant has completed both online assessments and has passed before issuing certificates.
Cost:
Registration Fee (add-on to Symposium registration) - $595
Registration Fee, Friday only participants (not part of Symposium) - $655
